This site is designed to benefit the communities of Dalton in Furness. It is intended to bring you, the community and any visitors up to date news and information on up and coming events. Also some interesting facts or information about Dalton and the surrounding areas. The information on this site is provided by the people of the community and, as such, if there is anything at all you feel should or could be included, anything you feel could be of benefit to the site and the community please do not hesitate to contact us.

Dalton is an ancient settlement, being mentioned in the Domesday Book as Daltune. It was peopled in the Bronze Age and then the Celts arrived. By the 10th Century the Anglo Saxons had settled here. The area was ravaged by the Norse who became the indigenous population and were later supplanted by the Second Generation of Norse who were farmers from Ireland.
